Payment of your account is due directly following your consultation by cash, cheque or credit card, and/or your private health fund card (using 'HiCaps') (see below).

EFTPOS facilities are available for payment, using credit, savings or cheque accounts.

Following payment, a receipt will then be issued to you.

Private Health Cover (and Hicaps)

Most 'Extras' tables with private health insurance funds cover dietitians.

HiCaps
For your payment convenience, we have HiCaps facilities, should you have private health insurance (with appropriate 'Extras' cover that covers Dietitian consultations). We can process your rebate directly and 'instantly' (for most health funds) with your card, so that you only have to finalise the 'gap' payment.

Medicare

If you 'qualify' for a Medicare Rebate, you will be able to claim back your total payment of $46.80 from Medicare.

Can I receive a private health fund rebate, and if so, how much will I receive?

Many private health insurance funds offer rebates for Dietitian services. If you have extras cover, you may attract a rebate of up to 80% of the consultation fee, for an individual consultation (depending on your 'table' or 'level' of cover and your actual fund).

If you would like more details on your particular level of coverage, appointment rebate(s) and annual limits please contact your health fund.

Annual Limits
Most health funds which have Dietitian rebates, will allow you an annual limit of between $200 - $800 for rebates for Dietitian services. This approximates to being covered for between 10 - 25 consultations over a year.

Joining a new Health Fund
If you currently have no private extras cover and wish to join a health fund, please note that a 'waiting period' may apply (often around 2 months) before you can collect your rebates, after you join. Therefore, please confirm the waiting period with your health fund.

Changing Health Funds
If you have private extras cover and you wish to change funds a waiting period may not apply if you are staying with a similar 'level' or 'table' of cover.

Does Medicare cover my consultations?

Medicare can cover up to 5 of your consultations if you Doctor has referred you and completed an EPC (Enhanced Primary Care) referral form. Please note that only clients who have a 'chronic condition' and who 'qualify' can receive Medicare rebates.

Note: Medicare Patients - You must bring in your EPC form to your first appointment to be able to qualify for Medicare rebates.
